After his trade to Nashville, P.K. Subban pledges to continue fight for Montreal kids’ hospital

Hockey star P.K. Subban sent a video message to the children at the Montreal Children’s Hospital: he still expects Valentine’s letters and virtual hugs even though he has been traded away to the Nashville Predators.

Subban, 27, pledged to help raise $ 10 million for the Montreal Children’s Hospital before he was traded in June for fellow all-star defenceman Shea Weber.

Last weekend, he headlined a Just For Laughs comedy gala in Montreal in a hospital fundraiser.

“You can’t imagine how rewarding it is to watch you get better and leave the hospital with your families,” Subban said in his video message to the children.

He promised to keep dropping in for surprise visits on the children at the hospital, even though he’s playing in a different city.

“Even while living in Nashville, I still expect Valentine’s Day letters, virtual hugs and spontaneous songs,” Subban said.

“In return, I will never stop funding and raising awareness for all of you.”
