Arrest made in 2013 case of 2 boys killed by python in New Brunswick

CAMPBELLTON, N.B. — The RCMP say one person has been arrested in connection with the deaths of two young boys who were asphyxiated by a python in Campbellton, N.B., in August 2013.

RCMP Cpl. Chantal Farrah says a person was arrested today and is in custody in Quebec.

Farrah says no charges have been laid but the investigation is ongoing.

Four-year-old Noah Barthe and his six-year-old brother Connor were killed in Campbellton after a 45-kilogram African rock python escaped its enclosure inside an apartment where they were staying for a sleepover.

The apartment was above the Reptile Ocean exotic pet store.
