Bel Marra Health, well known for offering high-quality, specially formulated vitamins and nutritional supplements, is supporting recent research that says trans-fat consumption maybe tied to aggression and irritability.
Beatrice Golomb, MD, PhD, associate professor in the UC San Diego Department says the results showed the consumption of dietary trans-fatty acids (dTFAs) can lead to adverse behaviors that impacted others, ranging from impatience to overt aggression.
Jim Chiang, CEO of Bel Marra Health says this study really brings attention to all the hype surrounding the reduction or elimination of trans-fats from daily diets. He says, the trickle-down effect is obvious. Trans-fat appears in schools and vending machines, so it can easily be deduced that these aggressive behaviors can begin to affect not only the consumer, but the people around them.
The research concluded, that while only observational in nature, it should still be given the attention it deserves. The survey included factors such as the individuals history of aggression, conflict strategies and self-rated impatience and irritability (on a self-rated scale).
