Boy barely injured after being trapped under vehicle on Thorncliffe Park Dr. in Toronto
Police are marvelling at the durability of a 9-year-old boy who is barely injured after being hit by a car and trapped underneath it Saturday afternoon.
Police say the boy got on a bus outside 49 Thorncliffe Park Dr., near Millwood St. and Overlea Blvd., and realized he was on the wrong bus. He then quickly got off and was running north through traffic to catch the right bus when he was struck by a passing car.
Area residents lifted the vehicle to free the child before emergency personnel arrived. Although it first appeared like he was badly injured, his wounds were mainly superficial cuts and bruises.
“It turns out he’s a tough little guy,” police said.
Thorncliffe Park Dr. was closed for traffic for police investigation but has since reopened.
