Brooklyn Nets at Toronto Raptors: Wednesday game preview

DeMar DeRozan

DAVID COOPER/TORONTO STAR Demar DeRozan and the Toronto Raptors host the Brooklyn Nets at the Air Canada Centre on Wednesday.

Game Day

BROOKLYN at TORONTO

AIR CANADA CENTRE

TIPOFF: 7 p.m.

TV: Sportsnet One; RADIO: FAN590

PROBABLE STARTERS

Brooklyn: Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Gerald Wallace, Reggie Evans, Andray Blatche; Toronto: Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan, Mickeal Pietrus, Andrea Bargnani, Jonas Valanciunas.

KEY MATCHUP

Johnson vs. DeRozan

Johnson averages about 16 points per game and is a tough cover for any shooting guard in the league; DeRozan’s had more good games than bad, he may have to be great against the Nets.

NEED TO KNOW

Toronto will be without centre Amir Johnson, who was hit with a one-game suspension for throwing is mouthguard at — and hitting — referee David Jones in Monday’s loss at Portland. . . . No updates on various Raptors injuries but a guess would be it’s unlikely that Lowry goes (triceps) and a bit more likely that Bargnani (elbow) plays; if neither goes, it’ll be Jose Calderon and Ed Davis who replace them. . . . Nets probably won’t have Brook Lopez (foot). . . . Brooklyn comes in to finish a back-to-back, they played New York on Tuesday night. . . . Game begins a stretch of five of six games at home for the Raptors.
