WALKMEN

Walkmen Photo The Walkmen headline a gig at the Danforth Music Hall Wednesday.

“Heaven”

The Walkmen

Indie faves play their third TO show in less than a year, but any thoughts that their act has grown tired will be blown away by front man Hamilton Leithauser’s controlled howls. They don’t rock quite as hard as a decade ago, but they still have that voice on top, and an extensive catalogue. With Father John Misty along to make for a solid double bill. Danforth Music Hall, doors 7 p.m.

“Gentle Roar”

Niki and The Dove

Yet another arresting act to drop from the Swedish pop tree, this one’s a synth-driven duo that add a drummer live and have a quirky appeal driven by Malin Dahlstrom’s icy vocals and theatrics. Wrongbar, doors 7 p.m.

“No Innocence”

This is the Noise

As far as guitars, this rockin’ Toronto fivesome are definitely a go big or stay home proposition, even if their brand of grunge tends to stray toward the generic. With Theset. Clinton’s, 9 p.m.
