Handouts killing U.S. economy

Re: Bumping our heads on the U.S. debt ceiling, Jan. 12

David Olive’s perspective is almost interesting and quite confused. Since when does borrowing more money solve your debt problem?

No one needs Paul Krugman and the mumbo jumbo economic double talk that Olive admires, nor the instant denouncing of the Republicans in office. What is needed is basic commen sense in fiscal responsibility and to remove all the supposedly good-for-the-econemy handouts that are so monumental in results for all but the immediate recipients of handouts.

The U.S. green program spending has been a dismal failure as with most other rescue/stimulation funding. The real problem is the White House and its inexperience and fumbling of unsuitable expensive handouts.

The whole administration is summarized by the incompetence of its leader. Barack Obama just cannot put together a package that works to restore the economy and most other issues.

And how about that foreign policy — how is that working out?
