Internships Create Opportunities for Todays Youth to Enter Creative Industries

Its no surprise todays youth are digital natives. They are virtually born online are permanently wired, text instead of talk, and quickly and intuitively embrace the newest of the new media. They WILL dictate tomorrows technology. If they get the chance.

The Remix Project, an organization that helps youth enter creative industries and further their formal education, has joined forces with Jugnoo, an Internet media technology company. This collaboration will provide Remix Project students opportunities to participate in month-long internships with Jugnoo, using their technologies to produce music and videos, complete interviews and user spotlights, report on cultural shifts, and film user-specific content.

Jugnoo is a Social CRM Platform in the cloud, simplifying social media marketing and relationship management. Meaning firefly in Sanskrit, the technology behind Jugnoo is designed to help businesses fire up their presence on the social web.

The Remix Project helps youth enter this internship program, which allows them to become Jugnoo brand ambassadors. They receive the tools necessary for content development and, in return, they provide Jugnoo with relevant videos, articles, music, and photos to share across their own web properties.

The Remix Project was created in order to help level the playing field for young people from disadvantaged, marginalized, and under-served communities. Their programs and services serve youth who are trying to enter creative industries or further their formal education. The Remix Project provides top-notch alternative, creative, and educational programs, facilitators, and facilities. Their mission is to help refine the raw talents of young people in order to help them find success as participants, and define it on their own terms.

Giving these young people access to our content development technology will help them accelerate their creative genius, which can be used in either furthering their education or getting a job, says Hessie Jones, vice president of marketing, Jugnoo. While theyre providing great content for Jugnoo to use, theyre gaining exposure for their work, building confidence, and developing important skills.

Opportunities to showcase their work include: concerts, art openings, showcases, pop-up galleries, poetry nights, office artwork, photography raffles, and short film festivals.
