The farmhouse known as Kintyre may look ordinary to onlookers, but it holds a secret that only the women who love it can discover. Janet Dowlers new book, Kintyre (published by iUniverse), tells the story of a beautiful old farmhouse with a magical secret.
Throughout the 20th century, three women live in Kintyre with their families: Fiona has lived there since the house was built; Sara comes to the house as a happy bride and turns into a lonely, eccentric recluse; and Kathryn is strongly drawn to the house without understanding why.
I hope my readers will enjoy this rather gentle journey through the 20th century and recognize that the threads binding families and loved ones together are complicated and may be even stronger than they had imagined, Dowler says.
Born in London, England, Janet Dowler immigrated to Canada with her husband in 1968. They both taught in elementary and high schools in Toronto for 30 years before taking early retirement. They still live in Toronto but travel as frequently as possible. This is Dowlers first book.
