Toronto News, October 24, 2013

Juss Ryden

His artist name is Juss Ryden. He is from Toronto and is from a mixed race background, Trinidadian, Venezuelan, and Jamaican.

His family connection in the music business is his late uncle, Bruce Robinson, who played for the The Sattalites, a legendary, Canadian Reggae group.

Since Juss was age 14, he has owned his own business, buying and selling electronics. Four years after starting such an enterprise, he registered his business name and had his own office.

“I’ve always been a business owner,” he told me at Yonge and King Starbucks in Toronto, “and now I am in the business of making music.”

His older brother, who is also an artist that makes his own music, inspired this twenty-three-year-old to do the same. Juss was touched by his uncle’s last words to him.

“He told me to continue to make music and to never stop.” Such advice motivated Juss to form a company called Sip Slow Entertainment.

Life is like a bottle of cognac,” he told me with a nod, “It’s harsh. It’s sweet. It’s filled with surprises. Some people like to chug their drinks and live life in the fast lane. I like to sip slow and enjoy every moment of it.” With that motto, he started his company and brand.

Sip Slow is about enjoying your life to its full potential. It’s about having fun, it’s about being patient, it’s about dreaming, working to accomplish your dreams, it’s about love, family, friends. Sip Slow represents unity. Sip Slow defines progression. It’s about running a marathon and enjoying yourself while making progress in life. He is making his music as a stepping stone to his ultimate goal and dream which remains to be seen. Juss has been working on mix tapes, including a documentary on his life story. “Hopefully I can make my way to the Hollywood big screen.”

Juss also hosted an event at the Hard Rock Cafe which had tremendous media coverage. In February 2013, Juss emceed an event at the Empire Lounge, where some famous faces were present, including Indashio, who is a famous fashion designer from New York.

“I’m not your typical artist. I believe I represent the freedom of youth. The way I handle my business. I want to be in control of my destiny. And I won’t stop even after I get to where I want to be.”

Musically, Juss Ryden can be described as a realist. The content of his music does not deviate from his real life and after seeing death around him, he decided to take another path.

His inspirations include known greats like Michael Jackson, 50 Cent, Nas, Tupac, Eminem, Dr. Dre, and DMX.

His zodiac sign is Aquarius and that is a water sign. He flows like water and moves like the wind. He’s 23, got an album coming out Look out for him! Juss Ryden will release his CD on the 24th October at 780 Queen Street, East /Broadview/queen time/ 8:00pm.
