Toronto News, ON (PR) March 27, 2012

PeaceWorks Technology Solutions has been recognized in the first Best for the World list as a business creating the most positive community impact. PeaceWorks and the other Best for the World businesses earned a score in the top 10% of all Certified B Corporations and, on average, 2x higher than the average score of nearly 2,000 other sustainable businesses that have completed the B Impact Assessment.

PeaceWorks provides first-rate technology solutions that enable organizations to achieve their mission with increased ease and efficiency. We focus on genuine client-focused relationships, connecting client needs with sustainable and reliable technology solutions. From custom software solutions to a virtual IT department for your organization, PeaceWorks technology offerings are backed by skilled consultants and supported by a diverse team of technicians. PeaceWorks is proud to be one of the founding Canadian B Corporations.

The B Impact Assessment, governed by the nonprofit B Lab, is the most rigorous, comprehensive, and comparable independent assessment of overall corporate impact and shows the relative value businesses create for society by comparing nearly 200 individual metrics on corporate impact on workers, consumers, suppliers, community and the environment.

PeaceWorks is a leader in the global movement to redefine success in business, said Jay Coen Gilbert, co founder of B Lab, the nonprofit organization that governs the B Impact Assessment and certifies B Corporations. PeaceWorks is among the best in the world at being the best for the world.

This recognition really validates what PeaceWorks Technology Solutions has been striving to achieve since its inception 16 years ago, remarks Nolan Andres, CEO and Founder of PeaceWorks. Best for the World is juxtaposed with Best in the World, emphasizing that it’s not all about us. It’s about addressing social injustice, widening the definition of community and recognizing our inherent interdependence. We’d rather be Best for the World any day of the week.

The Best for the World lists appear in the 2012 B Corp Annual Report published today by B Lab.

Best for the Community leaders include: Agora Management Corporation, Cap Global, Care2, Change.org, Ecovations, FMYI, Hershey Cause, Ideal Network, Mal Warwick Associates, Moving Forward Education, New Resource Bank, Next Street, PeaceWorks Technology Solutions, Prem Group, SQA Pharmacy Services LLC, thedatabank, The Redwoods Group, Virginia Community Capital.
