Police made arrest in string of downtown sexual assaults


Police arrested a man late Thursday who was wanted in connection with a string of recent sexual assaults in downtown Toronto.

Thomas Reardon, 34, was arrested in Pickering by Durham Regional Police.

On Aug. 23, another woman was approached in the Yonge and Wellesley Sts. area, where she was led to a nearby building and assaulted.

The next day, woman working as a sex trade worker in the Gerrard St. E. and Parliament St. area was taken behind a building and sexually assaulted.

On Aug. 29, police said a woman was approached in the Yonge and Gloucester St. area and sexually assaulted her in a nearby building.

Toronto police 43 Division has taken over the case. There’s no word yet on a court date for Reardon.
