KEY PLAYERS

Trout/Donaldson

If the Jays are going to rebound and head again in the right direction it will be because the Josh Donaldson of 2018 has become the Josh Donaldson of 2015, when he beat out Angels centre fielder Mike Trout in a pair of head-to-head battles that largely won him that year’s MVP. In 2015 vs. the Angels, Donaldson hit .433 with two homers and 12 RBIs in seven games with a 1.275 OPS. The following year, Trout turned the tables, earning MVP honours while batting .462 in seven games vs. the Jays with two homers, six RBIs and a 1.216 OPS.
