Toronto police seek man after 2 women stabbed, 1 fatally


Toronto police are seeking a 21-year-old man for a double stabbing that killed one woman and injured another.

Police said Shayne MacDonald, of Toronto, is wanted for second degree murder and attempted murder in an incident that occurred Friday at 8 p.m. near College and Dufferin Streets.

MacDonald is described as 5 foot 10 inches, 160 lbs., with light-brown hair. Police said he is considered violent, armed and dangerous.

Police urged members of the public not to approach him if he is located.

When officers arrived at the scene Friday night, they said they found two women with serious stab wounds.

The woman who died in the incident has been identified as Sarah Vermelhudo, 38, of Toronto.  She was rushed to hospital after the stabbing and succumbed to her injuries there.

The other woman injured in the stabbing was treated and is expected to make a full recovery.
