TV Tonight, Oct. 25: The series finale of Lost Girl


the fifth estate: If you’re concerned about Justin Trudeau’s pledge to legalize marijuana, this CBC investigative series has some news for you: Canada is already awash in pot. So goes the argument in the episode “Pot Fiction,” getting a repeat airing Sunday. (CBCNN at 7) (And if you’re still in the mood for pot talk, you can check out Reefer Riches, about the culture of cannabis consumption in Colorado and Washington State, Thursday at 9 p.m. on CBC.)

2015 MTV EMAS: That stands for Europe Music Awards, although you’d be forgiven for thinking you’d stumbled onto another American awards show with names like Tori Kelly, Ashley Benson, Pharrell Williams, Jason Derulo, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and Twenty One Pilots appearing. Brits Charli XCX, James Bay, Ellie Goulding and Mark Ronson will be on hand, and co-host Ed Sheeran hails from England, sharing his duties with Australian actress Ruby Rose of Orange Is the New Black. There’ll be some Canadian content too with actress Shay Mitchell presenting and Justin Bieber performing and vying to be named Best Worldwide Act. The show airs from Milan. (MTV at 8)

Legends: OWN at the Apollo: This new series brought to you by the Oprah Winfrey Network takes you to Harlem, New York City, and the legendary Apollo Theatre for four nights of concerts by the likes of Gladys Knight, Smokey Robinson, the Isley Brothers and Earth, Wind & Fire. Look for Stevie Wonder and Dionne Warwick to pop up too. (OWN at 10)

The Simpsons: We had the “Halloween of Horror” appetizer last week and now it’s time for the annual “Treehouse of Horror” episode. Sideshow Bob finally kills Bart, only to reanimate him; Homer wakes up with short-term memory loss; and Lisa, Bart and Milhouse get superpowers from radiation. (Global at 10, Fox at 8)
